Who are these guys? Point them my way...JOKING.

Well as a black woman (not a girl), I am quite wary of dating white men, because so many think its a compliment to tell me that "I have alway wanted to try a black woman" or "I have heard black women are good in bed" HELLO WE HAVE THE SAME PARTS AS OTHER WOMEN. WE DONT HAVE MAGICAL PU&&Y'S THAT WILL TRANSPORT YOU TO NIRVANA OR SOMETHING. Ones sexual compatibiity with another is not based upon on thier skin color. This idea is based on old racial stereotypes that we black women were hyper sexual, which was used to justify raping us.

In a more modern context, I would say that hip hop music has done more than the proponents of slave holders ever did to sell us black women as hyper-sexual. Combine this with the fact that hip hop artists are sold as supercool, I understand why some confused white men would see us a conquest.

My 2 cents.

The statistics just don't back up the premise of your question. In interracial dating, the most common combination is black male/white female. They outnumber white male/black female combinations almost 2 to 1. While that ration may be changing steadily, there is little evidence to suggest that there has been a dramatic jump in white males dating outside their race. Besides, young males black and white are trying for "conquest" of women all the time. With the number of young black males absent from the eligibility pool for various reasons, it is logical to assume that black females may be accepting more white males as partners. Even so, this is just a guess and isn't backed up by hard data that I know of. Maybe there is a newer study out or something.

Why is race still heavily weighted? Because 400 years of bad history between two groups takes a while to fix, more than a mere 40 years. Hell, many cultures are still fighting after hundreds of years of living together (*iraq - cough, cough*)

The Civil Rights Marches only happened 30-40 years ago. I think the stereotypes are diminishing and becoming more positive. A lot of younger white, suburban folks are into hip-hop and rap these days. Some might see a black lady as less naive, cooler, and more a player than a white girl the same age. Still a stereo-type, but at least it's more positive than past stereotypes. Black women, especially mothers, are seen as tougher, more capable, and in charge than light-rock listening, Kate Moss fan, white girls.

The guys who think like that consider it a conquest to get with any girl. They have no respect for women.

You have GOT to be kidding me!

This is a puritannical, victorian, fundamentalist society, with all the repressed weirdness that goes with that.

The only place I've gotten so many unwelcome advances from oddballs was when I lived in Germany, another lutheran, anal-retentive, fundamentalist society . . . .

I've had a black girlfriend. Never thought of her - or any woman - as a 'conquest.'

Just part of the game, that way you can say, I did it with a black girl.

They want to test whether the saying, "if you go black, you never come back," is true.
