How can we ask only some countries to allow inspection teams, shouldn't we all have to halt our nuclear proliferation.

Actually, I am not speaking of any existing treaties. I am a Canadian, growing more concerned about the state of the world, and the increasing tensions between nuclear powers. I am pretty sure, we have no nukes, but I do think it is time for all countries to start serious peace talks, with the goal of disarming. An idealistic, overly-optimistic dream, I know, but someone has to take the first step. As to Capt'n Kirk, his form of "cowboy diplomacy", doesn't seem to be working, perhaps if we follow Picard's example of standing down, so as not to appear provocative.

All countries must be subjected to UN inspection so that weapons will be accounted and can only be used if there is unlawful aggression being waged by a country.

Unfortunately some less-advanced civilizations have nefariously acquired the means to produce advanced technogies they don't understand. They're running around chopping each other's heads off, treating women like dogs, and constantly taunt countries that condemn barbarianism. Civilized countries don't want these animals to use the weapons we invented against us. It's like that episode of Star Trek where Captain Kirk has to give one group of cave men rifles because somebody else gave their enemies (also cave men) rifles. Except in real life we don't have Kirk to keep the cave men in a perpetual stalemate. All we have is the UN. Frankly I think we would be better of with Kirk...

Yes. The problem is that we, the USA, are one of only 5 permanent members of the UN that controls who gets into trouble or not for having nuclear weapons.

I was unaware that we were a violator of proliferation treaties. Please show us some proof of this.
