Unfortunately yes - it's a forgotten art. It really took some skill to make corrections on the originals that you mimeographed.

ohhhh yeah! i remember those...the teacher would always apologize if she had to bring copies fresh from the mimeograph machine cuz they were all stinky lol. ugh...i still remember that smell!

Yes. It was endlessly fascinating to watch the drum go round and round and spit out those speckled purple copies. Oh, it was a different world when I was young in 1886!

Yes, and used it too. Very messy and slow, "cutting" the mats was time consuming and and you had this special correction ink to cover mistakes and do the word again.

That trademark cli-click cli-click sound and that forewarning smell. Why forewarning? It let you know some sort of annoying quiz/test/homework assignment was about to be given.

Yes, many years ago. Lot's of fun and really messy. I used one. I KNOW that
ages me, but that's o.k. I 'm glad that we have a better way of doing things now.
