I was 19, started out on a Univac 1106 mainframe in 1976, with Honeywell "dummy" terminals. First PC that I owned was an IBM PC in 1981. Played around with a friends' "Trash 80" with a tape cassette to store the Basic programs that we developed at about the same time.

I learned to use the computer at about age 18 on an IBM7090. There were no home computers yet. I bought a Radio Shack TRS-80 when they first came out in the 70's.

I was 40 in 1981, when I got my Sinclair ZX-81. It came with a whole kilobyte of memory, which was a little limiting so I upgraded it to 16K. For storage it needed a fairly standard cassette tape recorder and the monitor was an ordinary TV.
Things have moved on a little since then and I haven't looked back!

We got a Compaq 386S as the family computer when I was around 5. I got a laptop when I was 17, but it's pretty lame. Right now I'm using a slightly faster desktop slapped together from cheap/free parts.
