Please weigh in and help me settle a difference of opinion here. I wasn't feeling well or up to cooking tonight, so my good friend/neighbor called and offered to pick up dinner for me and my kids at KFC. She said she had a coupon for a meal, and could pick it up after she got a few things at the dollar store. She asked if my 10-year-old daughter wanted to ride with her, to get out of the house for a while, and my daughter wanted to go. Keeping in mind that these places are just 5 minutes from our home, and they left here at 5:30, was it reasonable for 7:30 to come and go without them being back or having even called? Her cell phone was disconnected, so I couldn't call to check on them. My friend finally calls me from a pay phone at 7:30 to say they are about to go pick up the food!!! I was fuming. Neither of my kids had eaten. My friend's excuse was, "Well, I got to walking up and down and up and down the aisles, and I didn't think I would take so long." My daughter was perturbed too.

Oh, they strolled in around 8:00, with my friend acting as though she had no clue why I would be upset.

I neglected to say that this friend has done this before at least twice, and absolutely knows how I feel about staying in touch.

if she's done this before then stop accepting her offer to get dinner for you.

well i just have a question, if you knew she had done this before, why were you surprised when she did it this time? Before you go and disown her for life, take a minute to stop and realize that she really might have let time get away from her. Havent you ever been somewhere and forgotten the time? She offered to do you a favor to get the food. If you had ask her to be back at a certain time, I think you would have more reason to be upset.

Sure, you have a reason to be upset, but because she's a friend and thought she was doing you a favor on both accounts. (getting you dinner and taking your kid for a ride) You have no business "getting onto her".

Be perturbed, but just remember not trust her with things where she might piddle around. Sounds like she's a mossier and now you've learned something important about your friend.

Why do no longer you get a cellular telephone by technique of your self that way you do no longer could difficulty approximately what your mom and brother are doing. in the event that they decide to be irresponsible and not pay the telephone bill it won't impact you and you will no longer could shop paying expenditures considering the fact which you're in charge and could pay the bill on time.

You are not overreacting. If she does it again let her know how you feel. Sometimes you have to tell people how you feel or what's wrong, because if you don't they will continue to do it.
