I was wondering if rock music wouldn't affect you if you listened to it while taking a quiz, studying, or doing homework?

If you listen to it as background music only (that is quietly), there's nothing wrong with it.
But if you have it blasting loud, then you re bound to be an idiot because you won't be able to do your homework!

I listen to music at school and while doing my homework (they usually don't allow it on tests...) but anyways it helps me most the time, sometimes I end up stopping to songs I really like and singing the lyrics in my head, then it gets distracting.

It's best to listen to instrumental music when you're doing homework, as words can actually be disruptive. I would highly recommend listening to Dixie Dregs, an instrumental hard rock/metal band and similar bands while you're working.

It depends basically on the person itself.
Cause some of the rock bands help me out.

Music can sooth you. However, if you are taking a test it is better to use all of your brain for answering the questions.
