Ture Hip hop has been dead for a while. All the current music, with the exception of a few songs, is garbage. D4L and Them Franchise Boyz came and destroyed hip hop. Luda came with Mary and brought hip hop back to life for a while with Runaway Love. but as far as im concered the only true hip hop, the only place that hip hop is still alive is in mixtapes, ish that does not hit the mainstream rappers stay true to hip hop with out all the mainstream BS that goes around.

Depends on what you mean.

My interpretation of this is, hip-hop for the love of music rather than making money. In that sense, no, but it's dying, as well as damn near every other type of music. I'm sick of hearing about drugs, alcohol, and masogonistic BS that's basically out there just because that's what sells. Music needs to be real again.

it depends, artists are still doing their thing in the hip hop industry, but i believe some of the quality is repetitive as hell. if you want to hear first person experience look up the argument on Hot 97 between Nas and Jeezy

i think it really depends on the fans who like hip hop my personal opinion on that would be that i love all music and people shouldn't judge the quality of the bands or groups because they made it into the industry they should know what there doing and know how too make good music.....IMO (in my opinion)

Yes. Hip hop has been pushed aside to rap almost totally. We used to have songs that actually had meaning and had good lyrics, and now we have songs about partying and women with attrocious and hard to understand lyrics.

I can't wait for the day. I often wonder if I were 15 if I'd like hip-hop and/or rap music.

I think hip-hop died right after the Gangsta rap war (East Coast vs. West Coast). Not many "rappers" rap anymore. They just brag.
