Why do people make fun of people's weight, race, athletic ability, how they look and even possibly what they eat. Why would someone want to hurt someone's feeling if they didn't do anything to them in the first place?

Insecurity with themselves. But even those of color, extra baggage, less attractive, and non-athletic ability will find something on someone else to pick and gnaw at!!! I'm pretty slender, 5'3", very athletic, red hair, and I eat whatever I want. But you guessed it - I have friends that constantly tell me I'm too skinny and it looks gross - not much I can do about it though - just great metabolism.

People have to seek flaws to make themselves feel better. Not really sure what people can do to boost their self esteem but it seems that it doesn't pick and choose which people will DO the picking on and who will GET picked on, because EVERYONE does it!!! Unfortunately it's one of the rough lessons in life!!

This world is full of cruel and heartless people. Mabye they are jealous and are lashing out. or maybe they are afraid of whats different. or they just don't care. What you need to remember is that those type of people have no room in your world. Keep your head held high and try not to get too upset everyone is entitled to their opinions but that doesn't mean we have to like or accept them. Take what mean and heartless things they have to say with a grain of salt. and it you really want to get their goat smile at them when they are saying all that and when they are done say " thank you for your opinion " and walk away. I know it may be hard but it works. Good luck!

Sometimes people feel jealous about one's strong areas and therefore they make fun of you in your weak areas, such as weight, race, athletic ability... Also racism counts too.

People make trouble for other people because of their own lack of self esteem. It is a poor excuse and not acceptable. Very sad to think we can make ourselves feel better by making someone else feel bad.

Because most people in this world cant accept difference. If everyone in the world isn't exactly the way that they are then they make fun of them. They can't excpt that not everybodi is normal or whatever they want to call it. I say "Not to listen to them, they are just scared"

most people who engage in this type of behavior are not very happy with themselves. they are not confident, and making fun of someone else makes them temporarily have the illusion of feeling better about themselves. everyone has insecurities, and some people hide it behind the cruelity that they inflict on others. if u have been the victim of this, i am so sorry. best wishes

People make fun of people to put themselves on a higher level. They bring someone down, to put themselves up. People like that go after anyone.

I think there are a lot of reasons, but it all boils down to their own insecurity. It's far easier to laugh at someone else than it is to examine your own imperfections.
