In my baseball career I usually wore a shoe that was about 1/2 size smaller than my normal shoes. Cleats are made to stick in the ground obviously, and if you've ever heard of "turf-toe" you'll understand why I didn't want my feet slipping at all inside the shoes. Of course, cutting off circulation to your toes isn't a good idea either.

PS. IMHO high-tops are useless and in most cases a detriment in baseball.

They should be the same sizing as other shoes, but each shoe and each manufacturer has its quirks, so start with your standard shoe size and try a number of them on. Get the ball of your foot at the widest part of the shoe; everything else will work out usually.

Just like any other shoe. Nike tends to make small shoes, so go a half or whole size bigger than what you really are. Addidas runs large- so get smaller.
