In order to jump higher you will need to build up both your quadriceps (main upper leg muscles in the front part of the leg) and your triceps surae (the calf muscles of the lower leg). The best way to accomplish this is at the gym.

The triceps surae can be worked by doing standing and seated calf raises (also called calf raises)--using dumbbells, barbells, or a calf-raises machine to provide extra resistance.

The quads can be worked by doing squats (either with dumbbells or a barbell), leg presses on an angled leg press machine, and by using a leg extension machine.
