We are having doubts about who the father of this baby is since we know down to a few days when the baby "had to be conceived." If it's not possible, then we know who the father isn't. The baby was 7 lbs 20" at birth. I think we know the answer but........ thanks!

Just to clarify, the baby isn't mine. It's my daughter-in-law if you must know. Wow.. I didn't realize that there are so many judgmental people. Please, just answer my question.. no commentary is needed. It's up to my son if he wants a paternity test, not us. But thanks for the advice.

Although you shouldn't go over 42 weeks (most doctors won't allow you to go past that) because it's not safe, there have been case where the fetus was carried longer. It is possible, though not likely to give birth to a healthy baby after the 42 week mark.

If you're looking to find out in weeks, it is medically possible to be pregnant for up to 44 weeks. Most often than not, a doctor will deliver your baby if it hasn't arrived by then. My mother-in-law was pregnant for 46 weeks - BUT that was back in 1973 when all this newer technology was not available.

Why not go the easy route and just get a DNA test. Will solve everything.

yes its possible my mother was pregnant for 45 weeks with my youngest sister they finally induced her labor but sometimes the baby just isnt ready to come out my poor mom was over due with my last 3 siblings she was 44 weeks with one 42 weeks with the other all were healthy n strong but the youngest which went the longest had jonduse pretty bad and was kept in the hospital for a week after birth.....As for guessing paternity I would suggest a DNA test to be sure Good Luck and ignore the ignorant answers that are tryin to put you down for being in this position they have no idea your situtation..

Probably not. A doctor will induce if you're over 40 weeks. It's not safe for the baby to go over 42 weeks.

No doctor would let you go that long w/o inducing labor. The baby would be in so much trouble at 10 months it wouldn't survive. Some one has been fibbing.

No, the placenta would deteriorate and the baby would die.You can only go to 42 weeks safely.
