He's very advanced, he's walking holding onto things, has 5 almost 6 teeth, and eats any food. My friend has a baby one day older than him who's saying Mama and Dada already.

Don't talk to him like he's a baby, but as though he understood you. I don't mean "if you want to talk crud about Daddy, tell your baby"! I mean use simple sentences to explain what you're doing- "Mama is putting your shoes on." Hearing "mama" and "dada" frequently will help your little buddy learn what those sounds mean. Since he is developing so rapidly physically, don't hold your breath for him to speak very soon. He's working on other things right now. :)

Slap him around a little bit,,,,,,,,,,,,, just kidding....he'll learn to talk in time. Don't rush a 8 month old thru life. Love Love and Love the child just the way he is....there is plenty, plenty of time for learning your name. My son said Daddy right from the start yet took almost 2 years before he said Momma..... yet he's spoiled after her.

dont forget, boys tend to learn a little slower than girls, but kids usually start talking (mama, papa, etc...) around 1 so dont worry if hes not talking yet. dont push it, he'll get it soon enough.

You can't force a kid to talk. Just be verbal with him....talk to him, read to him, sing songs with him and be patient. Kids do what the do at their own rate.
