For the best coverage look for thick creamy in a tube. Eye shadow in dark colors, try loreal powder shadows in the little round pot.

What you should be looking for is how many ounces you get for the money, not cost per bottle. If you go by weight, sometimes you discover that the $40 foundation that you were too scared to buy will last you a lot longer than buying a tube here and there of cheapy ones. I use MAC Studio Fix liquid, which I believe is about 23 dollars, but it lasted me 8 months (or however long it's been since the product was released).. and it's the best coverage I've seen without looking like Michael Jackson.

As far as concealer goes, I've stopped using one because I found that it make my skin wrinkle. ::gasp!!: Yes, I've experimented with concealers and to my dismay I realized they were sucking my youth from me. What I do now is dab my liquid foundation with a light finger around the spots where I need a little more coverage. I've noticed dramatic differences in my skin's texture since doing this. I've even stopped using eye cream!?! WTF?

As far as the eyeshadow goes, get the Urban Decay Primer Potion and any eyeshadow will be long lasting.

You should try covergirl true blend foundation. It is usually around $10. You could also try Physicians Formula makeup. It is really good for your skin and does a wonderful job for under $15. Also try Physcians Formula concealers. They work really well.
As far as dark shadow there are a few methods you could try to get it to last. First, put foundation over your lids to make the makeup stick and then apply a light dusting of powder to set it. You could also try gel, cream, or liquid eyeshadow. Cream tends to crease, so it is necessary to put the dusting of powder over it too. Where eyeshadows are concerned I buy cheap. You can find plenty of colors for $6 or under in different brands. Unfortunately, every situation is different as far as lasting all day. Any brand eyeshadow lasts all day on me, but other girls may have tried every brand under the sun and found only one or two brands that really work, if they have found any at all. Eyeliner should be self-sharpening pencils or liquid to last all day. Mascera should be waterproof generally to make it through anything, including rain.

I hate to break it to you, but buying inexpensive foundation has bad news written all over it. Your skin is precious and delicate... if you clog it up too much with low-end foundation you'll end up with a hot mess.

Using Cover-Girl and Neutrogena (which is better) will work in a tight fix, but in the end, just get up and go with $25 into Sephora and talk with one of the gals in there. Go in non-peak hours, and they'll hook you up. They will go with you to every different foundation until you find the one that works best for you. Just give them your budget, and it'll all run smoothly.

As far as eyeshadows go, I'm a huge fan of Cover-Girl.
