My sister has a Compaq Presario laptop. A couple days ago the screen would flicker now and then, and today she turned it on and the screen is completely black ... won't turn on. Anyone had a similar problem, or anyone with suggestions? Thank you much.

Your lcd backlight maybe dead. Try connect your laptop to a external monitor to see if it works. If it does, you need to replace the backlight. There are websites that show how or you can take it to a computer shop and have them replace it.

What you can do is reinstall everything, i bet is a problem with the installation.. If you dont know how to do it check online, for info.. or simply biring it to a place where they will fix comp.. I would say Reinstyall it!!!!!!!!!!!!
