Just go to your local music store (there's gotta be one around) and they can pick one out for you no problem. There are many kinds that not only beat the division of the beat but the subdivision as well. Some have adjustable volume, which would be good for you, since your drums might be loud :)

The KIND of metronome should be the least of your worries. I don't know what the number on mine means either. It's probably just the model/brand. All I know is that it keeps me in line. :) Happy banging away at the drums.

You should either ask your instructor for a suggestion or go to a music store. I don't think they make metronome's specifically for drums, but they might. The numbers in the name are just part of the model number.

Aren't they all the same? They just keep time and you can adjust the speed. You need a metromome. There's nothing worse than a drummer who can't keep time.
I played bass in a garage band in high school. The guitarist had no sense of rhythm, and when he got excited he would speed up. The drummer and I would just keep to the right tempo. It used to get ugly.

yo. i'm a drummer. they make special ones for drummers that obviously get LOUD so you can hear them over the set. I don't know specific brands but when i needed one my instructor told me they had ones for the coolest instrument on the face of the earth. =]

p.s.= if you ever get asked/ told to play this new-fangled thingy called the flexatone i just learned about today...say no frickin way.
