Because being smart and speaking proper English is equates with "acting white". And "acting Black" is getting bad grades and dropping gout. I think this is so ignorant when people say things like this I am often accused of "acting white" because I talk a certain way and I take a lot of AP courses in school. I'm talking at least 4 in my Senior year. I'm surrounded by white kids in my classes and I get a lot of crap from them saying that I'm "only here because of affirmative action" and my Black peers who say that I'm a "sell=out' and that I "act white." I just ignore all the ignorant losers.

Well it's a lot of blame for a lot of people. But before you put too much blame on whites for being racist you have to acknowledge that a lot of black people don't do anything to stop those negative stereotypes, ESPECIALLY the rappers that flaunt it like they're proud to be an exaggerated racial stereotype.

It is called passing when a person conforms to the dominate culture to achieve goals. Acting like a sub culture is stupid. I realize that you start to pick up the speaking patterns of your peers. However watching a lot of BET does not count. SPREAD THE WORD.
