There's no successful nation.Every country has it's own problems.
Eradicating HIV/AIDS from Africa is like building a defense wall in New Orleans against hurricanes.It can never be stopped.European nations became helpless in time of floods during early 2006.After hurricane Katrina occurrence,a lot of poor African countries brought aids (i mean help) to the US.I know for one:Ghana sent lots of cocoa finished products including chocolate bars. Even though,little as it may be it help out.
Therefore,no nation can boast of being successful those who do hide the reality of their situations.
US is backed by UK so are the Islamic region backing each other.We all need each others help.

South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Mauritania, Tanzania to name a few- Africa has a lot of problems with political corruption - probably because they are becoming westernized and their values get messed up so that they start turning into people like you... - But they are all successful if you go by things that really matter such as quality of life, family strength and the way they treat each other on the human level. You don't need material crap to be successful. But you do need a good heart and morals. Something you should look into to pose such an insensitive, ignorant question.

Yes, South Africa!
It is an economical powerhouse for Africa and pretty civilised!
The reports you see on CNN and sky news only focus on what is bad about Africa and never the positives!
And oh,we do not walk around carrying spears and no we do not walk beside lions (cause they will maul us)!
