I see Latin acting/singing awards shows and black acting/singing awards shows and no one really cares. But I just know in my heart that if anyone ever had the balls and lacked enough brains to put on a white singing/acting awards shows all kinds of people would throw hissy fits like it was an attack on all other races. So the question is why does America love double standards?

No I'm not racist, I have friends of all kinds of ethnicities and skin tones so don't even try that copout answer.

I don't like that first argument really. An eye for an eye makes eveyone blind. The good white people (most of us) have been trying to make up for our ancestors for a long time, and I think it's time for real equality, not this shallow rickety "We won't point it out if you don't." Double standard. And I realize you don't necesarily espouse that "logic" don't worry.

Oh no, I don't care that much either. I just find it kind of amusing, don't take me the wrong way, I don't even watch awards shows hahaha

You're argument might work puzzlite, but the thing is I can't name very many of any colored actresses lol. And I see what you're saying, the most valid point I've heard for the argument. Not for music though, the only music I hear everywhere is by black rappers (and ugh I can't stand rap) and there's so much of it and it's so popular that if it's not good enough to win normal awards apparently it's just not good enough.

well i think you're missing a vital point here. if it were true that you could see black, white, latino, asian actors in equal measure on screen, there might be a good argument to discard the need for black award shows. but lets face it, and huge chunk of talent and i mean talent that make big bucks and even talent that make small bucks are white. where are the new crop of asian actors or latino actors or black actors? those actors are usually hired to fill certain parts like the black friend or the asian nerd or something like that, not the lead role. how many black female lead actresses can you name, now think of how many white lead actresses you can name!

What are other award shows would you see blacks or latinos get what they deserve? These white award shows cater to whites, not to mention whites are the one's who decide who get these awards.

I think the "logic" is that whites have been clebrating their achievements for a long time. Now it's time for everyone else to catch up.

Obviously white people don't care about it enough to do something about it. Why don't you volunteer?
