My cousin continues to play contact sports without a cup. He says he doesn't need one because he hasn't started to mature yet. I told him that he should wear one in case he gets hit there because they could "rupture". Can this avctually happen or is it just a one in a million freak shot???

I'm not sure why he said "hasn't started to mature yet". He can still get hurt.

I believe they can fracture.
There was an article in my local paper earlier this week about some high school kids getting arrested for assault, because the were doing a "cup check" on some of the freshmen. One of them was hurt pretty badly and he might lose one of his testicles.

Tell him to squeeze his nuts real hard and if they hurt then he Needs a Cup for support.
if he don't want to squeeze them, then kick him and see if he squirms
