1. Manifest denstiny was the thought that the U.S. was bound to expand, no matter what the cost. Therefore, America got kinda cocky and starting thinking they were better than everyone else!

2.The Texas revoloution include the alamo, the golaid, and the santa jacinto battle. Many important people died such as travis, davey crocket, and among others. This war lead to texas independence! The Mexican war happened after this to decide the boundery line which was wanted, by America, to be the RIO GRANDE. After Santa Anna, the leader of mexico signed the treaty of guadlupe-hidalego the border was decided to be the rio grande and the US gained alot of territory such as UTAH, CALIFORNIA, and NEW MEXICO. The leader of texas, forgot who his name was, told America they were going to side with britian in the fight against organ(it was later split). America finnaly agreed to the Texas Annexation.

3. The mexican was was a war to decide the bounderies of Texas. Americans wanted it to be the Rio Grande. They fought but in the end Santa Anna was fourced to sign the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalego giving the US the Mexican Cession (CALIFORNIA, UTAH, AND PARTS OF NEW MEXICO. they also agreed that the Rio Grande was the border of Mexico!

hope this helped!

Impact of Texas Revolution on US

The Republic was never recognized by the government of Mexico, and during its brief existence, it teetered between collapse and invasion from Mexico. Texas was annexed by the United States of America in 1845, and it was not until the Mexican-American War that the "Texan Question" was resolved.

Texas Revolution And Annexation

The Alamo, a line drawn in the dust--the images of 1836 are almost as familiar to Americans as those of 1776. Many recognize the distinctiveness of Texas's experience--its revolt against Mexico, its life as an independent republic, and finally, its voluntary surrender of nationhood. But the causes and consequences of its unique course are less well understood.

After gaining independence from Spain in the 1820s, Mexico welcomed foreign settlers to sparsely populated Texas. Promised land on generous terms, some twenty thousand to twenty-five thousand Americans migrated there within a decade, far outnumbering the resident Mexicans (Tejanos). These immigrants clustered in relatively autonomous colonies along the lower Brazos and Colorado rivers and in the east. Alarmed at their reluctance to assimilate, Mexico passed laws in 1830 to slow American immigration. But rent by conflict between federalists and conservative centralists, the government could not enforce them. The regulations succeeded only in angering both settlers and those Tejanos interested in economic development.
