I currently own a Fender Standard Stratocaster. It is equipped with three single coils. As I play heavier-sounding guitar, I prefer hot humbuckers. I am wondering, are all the electronic components (minus the jack) attached to the pickguard? If so, could I simply swap out that pickguard and electronics and replace it with a pickguard with humbuckers?

I do know that it may be unorthodox to do it that way, but I primarily play bass and don't want to purchase a second guitar, since this one holds some sentimental value, lol.

yes and no. No the compononents aren't attatched to the pickgaurd. But yes you can make the change.....with a little bit of work. What you'll have to do is use a router and CAREFULLY route out the front chamber towards the rear and the rear chamber towards the front. Purchase the pre-wired pickgaurd with the two hums in it (I HIGHLY recomend EMG Zakk Wyldes) and there you go. I'm no expert, but i did route out a Strat body for 1 Hum and 2 Singles one time.

Strats are cool, yet i think of the sg is a greater sturdy play what you opt for for guitar. you are able to in no way pass incorrect with s les paul, nevertheless. oh yeah, Fender Jaguar, examine that out in the previous you're making your ideas up, too
