i havnt seen them live but 4 me maradona is the best player i have ever seen

The best individual performance I've ever witnessed was by Pat Jennings for Northern Ireland against England at Wembley in a World Cup '86 qualifier, in 1985. The game finished 0-0.
Outfield, my vote goes to Franz Carr, who almost single-handedly beat Chelsea 6-2 at Stamford Bridge whilst playing for Nottingham Forest in the late 1980s, or Glenn(da) Hoddle for Chelsea in a sweeper role in the 1-0 win over Manchester United at the Bridge in 1993.
Obviously, these choices refer to individual games. If I had to name the best player I've seen (according to popular demand), I'd say Eric Cantona. The man was a footballing genius, although my personal favourite will always be the little Sardinian, Gianfranco Zola. The ultimate model pro.

The best player I have ever seen play was Michel Platini, the great French player in the 70's. It was his farewell game, France vs.the Rest of the World, in Tokyo Japan. Also playing in that game was the great Brazilian Socrates, the Argintinian Oswaldo Ardiles, and a noteworthy list of others. Unforgettable.

The best player I've seen live? That's a tricky one...
As a Man Utd fan you get a bit spoild, but Schmeichel's my all time hero.

i've seen all 3, best can look like hes taking a rest and then springs to life to do something brilliant, pele was a very hard worker, and maradonna in my opinion can't be included, no one knows when he was drugged up or cheating.

i saw live and on tv the best as follows zidane easily the best..maradona next some ways behind..eusabio..platini..pele..matteus..but no brittish player i ever saw had the presence of these greats and many more like them...its a pity but if you must name our best it would have to be ..well i cant name one though aendless heros no one ever in their class
