Is this going to happen soon. News coverage would seem to point to an imminent attack

That depends if Iran's President keeps opening his mouth with making threats to wipe out Israel and Israel gets enough of it.

I watched a pretty compelling 3-part documentary called "The Power of Nightmares," about the rise of militant neoconservativism in the U.S., which parallels the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, incidentally. Fascinating, and pretty even-handed. I will be amazed if it ever airs in America.

Watch this, and then check out the documentaries "Why We Fight" and "Iraq For Sale: The War Profiteers". And then you'll discover why my answer is: a 90% likelihood. Until we oust all the White House admin's neocons, war will continue to be business-as-usual, because it's so unbelievably profitable.

Now, despite this kind of apparent pessimism, I still believe an Iran invasion is not an inevitability. Urge our leaders to give peace a chance. Stop focusing relentlessly on terrorism, and instead, give energy and conviction to collaborative diplomacy. Hatred doesn't have a chance when peace is the sole purpose...

The chance that Iran will be attacked is very high in my opinion. However, I think their nuclear program is more of an excuse than an actual reason.

This isn't the first time this goverment has attacked Iran. The goverment once took out a democratically elected president of Iran named Mossadegh in a coup. This was classified, but now it is in public domain. Stop watching the mainstream news. Iran was once a secular pro West state until we removed their leader and helped the UK gain control of BP oil. This is well known news, not my opinion.

US is repeating same things that it did in case of Iraq like

1. Isolating Iran diplomatically.
2. Freezing its Assets abroad.
3. Stopping technological and Humanitarian Aids.
4. Getting UN resolutions passed against Iran.
5. Fabricating stories of Iran's involvement in Iraq like Weapons of Mass Destruction in case of Iraq

Highly Likely

They may very well attack Iran, but Iran's nuclear program won't have anything to do with it.

At one time I thought it was inevitable. But now, it seems that it is just too dangerous for the U.S. to attack. Our troops in Iraq seem to be in danger of an Iranian attack of somekind and the disruption of Middle Eastern oil is too frightening to imagine.
