never
1. the universe is still expanding and we yet not understand to get rid of the speed limit of light, or any other form of transportation which brings us far out.

2. brings us to the point that the universe is still expanding and its simply impossible to reach that border

3. mankind is not even advanced enough to avoid killing its own planet. starting with not following what was decided in kyoto... and so on and on .. such a 'highly advanced' species normally falls out of the bus on the next bump.

4. i read about people who want to put nuclear rockets on the moon to kill usama bin laden ... what a great first step

5. when shall this happen ? before or right after M31 crashes into the milky way ?

6. maybe we gonna get destroyed cause another advanced extraterrestrial race wants to build an intergalactical highway, like douglas adams described in his funny book. no chance ...

7. which universe ? our current ? according to some advanced theories we talk about no less than 11 possible dimensions (supersymmetry) sooo i guess we all gonna die in the emerging war on the decision WHICH universe we finally going to populate.

8. populate or pollute ?

9. why ? its all just a simulation anyway .. yeah, no joke .. lets say computer and simulation power doubles every 3 years...wouldn't you think at some time anyone could already have created this simulation masterpiece, and we are in it .. ?

Well, we can keep going until we run into the next civilization. The question is not "Are there are other civilizations", but instead "Where are the other civilizations?" After we're done looking at these freaky "bigger than Jupiter sized planets orbiting stars closer than Mercury and orbits it's sun in only 3 days", we can start looking for more realistic Earth like planets. Once the surveys are in, I believe we will find a lot of folks to meet. In all, we can't populate a whole Universe if it is already populated.

Entire universe? You mean, the whole thing? No way in heck. It's too big! We'll never have the technology to even cross the galaxy. Our galaxy's at least a million lightyears across-at least, and it's probably more. (Couldn't find it on Wikipedia.) There's never going to be enough humans to populate our own galaxy-at best, we'll fill up the solar system.

Maybe. The universe is really big and spread out but given enough time we might be able to explore the whole thing. First we would start by trying to explore the galaxy, which will still take a long time. Look up "fermi paradox".

not a chance

i dont think the human race will ever be able to get all the way to another galaxy much less the whole universe, perhaps not even to another star, but i remain open the idea of at least some other stuff inside the milky way

i honestly dont think so bcuz no other planet has been shown to have oxygen so either we would have to wear space suits all the time or they would have to find some way to put a huge bubble around the planet to keep oxygen in and i dont see how thats possible..and there was no signs of water either so we would have to find a way to transfer it and someone would have to come up with a rocket that has more power so we can get farther into the universe and more research needs to be done before we even think about it...but thats just my opinion!

Yes!

I think it's our destiny.

The next few generations will be the hardest. Once we grow up and get past our nihilistic desires to kill ourselves.... the universe will be ours.

Of course, we'll all be worm food anyways so I'll never know for sure.

I'll give you, YOU, $5 if YOU could live on JUPITER, and procreate! Just TRY it!! It'll take you 34-37 YEARS just to get to MARS at it's closest ORBITAL, going 17000 miles an hour.

So, no. But, then again! Physicists first thought that we wouldn't be able to BREATH going 50 miles/hour!!

never. first of all none of us will be around that long...second, we will never be able to live outside the earth's atmosphere. we can visit outer space as we have been doing...picking up dust from the moon or mars, or working with and on satellites... but we will never be capable or advanced enough to actually exist somewhere else in our universe.
