To do my hair and makeup (not too much) I can't even get a guy to approach me? Like today I have been sick and went out in pj bottoms, a tee-shirt and flipflops, no make up and a sloppy ponytail/bun and I got hit on by two guys! But when I go to a bar or out for the evening and put on a little makeup and fix my hair like a movie star NOTHING!!!! What gives guys?

one big reason for it is when you go out without doing anything to yourself, but you still look pretty it is kinda like letting guys know that you know how to relax.. i have a close friend and she is drop dead sexy but when she puts on makeup and fixes her hair all perfect she all the sudden seems to be high maintenance. it makes guys think o crap if i date her i will constantly be waiting on her to get ready and i will have to take out a mortgage on my house just to pay for the stuff she is gonna want. which is totally not the case with tiffany. she is laid back and doesnt want much. i think sometime a girl can look to good. maybe you are having that problem. i know it seems like an oxymoron but it isnt. by the way blue hair. way way way hot.

sorry, Thinking you look like crap is a social influence. I believe a woman that is comfortable in her own skin is much more appealing than one made up to look good. when you are natural, the real you shines through. all made up, leaves so many questions, I don't care to find the answers. your personality is more important for a lasting relationship. looks can change at any moment, life has a way of hitting you where it hurts. An honest appearance indicates a real person, someone not trying to hide.

I'd say it's an opportunity thing. In bars the expectation can be rather high. On the street it is more spur of the moment. You get a smile in the grocery store, a wink in the laundry mat... To me bars are not real life. The street is...

Isn't that the truth. I go grocery shopping at like 6 or 7 in the morning and the guys are very friendly or very tired.

This happens to me too. My boyfriend, as well as a couple of my exes have always told me they prefer women who look natural as opposed to all made up. I am starting to actually believe they must be telling the truth. So I dont go out of my way to look perfect as much as I used to.

That is so true it happens to me all the time too. A lot of guys told me they really HATE makeup. Guys are weird - I don't know.

I'm not a guy, but I think most men like to see what a girl looks like when she is going to bed. The real you. You probably look hot in your PJ's to. :>) When you get all spiffed up, they probably feel intimidated to approach you. Tough crowd these days, and hard to please.

My female family members have been asking this same question... I wouldn't hit on someone who goes out looking like a slob, even if they weren't. Its not about looks, its about presenting yourself right.
