Try resetting it by pressing and holding the menu and middle buttons.

ON THE IPOD MINI YOU CANNOT RESET IT THE WAY THE PEOPLE ABOVE ME SAID. ONLY IPOD'S THAT WERE MADE ON THE END OF 2005 AND THE ONES THAT WERE MADE ON 2006. TO RESET YOUR IPOD THE RIGHT WAY YOU ONLY HAVE TO PRESS THE CENTER BUTTON OF THE CLICK WHEEL. YOU CANNOT RESET IT BY PRESSING THE CENTER AND MENU BUTTONS. WHEB YOU DO THIS THE APPLE LOGO WILL APPEAR MEANING THAT YOU HAVE SUCCESFULLY RESET IT. THEN YOU CAN JUST CHARGE IT. Hope this helps.

I'm guessing you have it hooked up to your computer and it is charging. You can wait till it's charged, and it will say safe to disconnect, or just turn off your pc and pull the plug.

try holding the center button and the top button down for like 15 seconds or until it restarts.... if its dosnt restart, is it charged? if those dont work its prolly broken
