You are being answered by a nurse practitioner who used to manage a PP clinic in TX and was the RNP who examined and prescribed birth control. The oral contraceptives we gave to our clients were exactly the same as the ones you could buy in a pharmacy. We had to have a pharmacy icense to prescribe them from our clinic. Rest asured...the health care you receive there is as good as you'll get anywhere!

getting birth control from planned parenthood is the same as getting birth control from a doctor or anywhere else. You need to be aware that if you are a smoker or have a rare blood clotting disease, you can be at risk taking birth control in any form. Doctors and nurses anywhere at planned parenthood or not do not generally discuss the side effects of birth control. and one of them is BLOOD CLOTs. Ask alot of questions before making a decision as to what birth control you should take

You will get the EXACT same type of birth control that is offered in any ob/gyn facility. You will see an actual doctor. The only difference is, the pay is based on your income.

There are doctors at planned parenthood. They would not be able to give you a perscription if they were not licensed.

Yes, it is ok to do. This is especially ok for those that don't have insurance and can't get to a gyn or a primary care physician to help with this.
