Optimist or pessimist. But is that really the question, is this a guide to your outlook on life or is it merely as simple as asking wether the glass is being filled or emptied at the time?

I think it is both. First, do we look at all we have, or focus on what we do not. Also, in some cases, we may want to order another pint if the one currently occupying our attention is getting a bit low.

There is a third perspective, that of the fly who happened to land in a tankard emptied of beer and left in the garden the night before: Now, with just enough left to get himself bladdered, he lays at the bottom and wonders if he will ever have the coordination to fly back out.

Glass half empty or full depends on who is buying the next round.

If you don't want to be filled up, you will consider your glass half full. If you do, you will think of it as half empty.

I would really hate to be with you in a Pub.

Its half full of air or water or anything else that you don't have pay for. Half empty of anything else. The reason? It doesn't cost you money to refill the glass of air or water, but it does for anything else.

It's always full, the bottom half with liquid (hopefully beer) the top half with air.

When your glass is full only with air - get another beer!

My glass is half full. Try it and see what your answer is. That's the only way you'll know.
