the test is done between 10 and 14 weeks. My boyfriends mother wants yo get a paternity test done, so i was wondering if i can get paternity results since they take blood from the baby? Because i know for sure it's his baby. There is absolutely NO! doubt about it at all. And i'm sick of hearing his mother talk about it like i've cheated on him.

the test u are talkin about requires no blood from the fetus.

NO paternity test can be done while u are pregnant.
It has a high risk of miscarriage so NO DOCTOR WILL AGREE TO DO IT!!! the doctor risks getting sued for malpractice if you DO have a miscarriage. if they determine you are in NEED of an amniocentesis, they will take blood but they will not release the blood to you for a paternity test. thats not their concern.

p.s. who impregnated you, your boyfriend or his mom? leave her out of it, as long as HE is takin care of business thats the only concern u should have. and please keep in mind that when you DO have the child and need a paternity test it will cost anywhere from $250 to $500 so u can let her know to have the funds ready and at your disposal.

Not really. Paternity testing needs genetic material from the fetus. An amniocentesis would provide that material, but those are done around 18 to 20 weeks and a nuchal translucency test is done around 10 to 12 weeks.

A chorionic villus sampling would provide genetic material, but the procedure is very risky to the fetus, about a 1% chance of miscarriage compared to 0.1% for an amnio.

Best bet is to wait until the baby is born, it's the easiest and safest way to confirm paternity.

The nuchal translucency test is an ultrasound that measures the thickness of the nuchal space. So no, you can't do them together.

?

It's an ultrasound.

Any prenatal paternity test will require amniocentesis, which has a risk of miscarriage, so -- tell mom to hang on for a while longer.

you should tell his mother to back off...you don't have to please her...if you and him know the deal about the baby, then that's all that matters..
