my girl is in 4 th grade and I am an idiot cause i dont know what the answer to this problem is : a class of 35 children took a test and 5 failed. what percent of the class failed?
It is beyond me lol I am 32 yrs old I should know this but............

Simply divide 5 by 35 and that will give you 14%.

Hey! You're not stupid. It's just that you don't know how to solve that particular math problem
Here's how:
The number of people that took the test = 35
The number of people that failed = 5
The percent that failed = 5 X 100 divided by 35
500 divided by 35 = 14 2/7 %
You can also divide 5 by 35
= 5 divided by 35 =14.285 %

1/7 of the class failed. (5/35 = 1/7) 5/35=x/100 x=14.2857 ... or 15% to the nearest decimal.

If you wanted the answer it's 14.28%. You get this by doing 5/35 then multiply that number by 100 to get a percent, since its the number of people who failed divided by the total number of people in the class.

Divide one by seven. (top dog goes in the house (one is the top dog))
You should get .1428571.....
Move the decimal place two to the right,
and you get 14.28571%
Round it to the nearest whole, which is 14.
