I am not one of those "girly girls" because I prefer to be myself. A couple of girls in the hallway today (the girly girls) told me that I should dress like a "real girl" because "every guy in this world wants to date a girly girl." I don't think this is true, but I was just wondering on what you think about that comment. Thanks. (Rude answers will be ignored.)

Just brush them off your shoulder

Be proud of yourself

I personally, do not like girly girls with girly sometimes slutty clothes, or with really annoying voices

I like a girl with class, cute personality, and is intelligent enough to ignore these girls

It's not true at all. Some guys don't like the girly girls. There's nothing wrong with that, but culture or society or the "in" crowd can sometimes put a lot of pressure on people so that they follow the crowd and have trouble expressing their true selves. Confidence, a sense of humor, taking care of yourself, enjoying life...these are as or more important than looking like a "girly girl." At the same time though, make sure that you're not ignoring or repressing the "girly girl" that's probably somewhere inside you just in an effort to set yourself apart or because you're uncomfortable with it. You deserve to be ALL of who you really are! Those "girly girls" in the hall don't even know the meaning of "real" girl, and they certainly have no idea what "every guy in the world" wants or is attracted to! Be yourself, be-you-tiful!

Maybe it's true that every guy in the world wants to date a girly girl. But unless you want to date every guy in the world, that doesn't really matter. You don't have to be, shouldn't expect to be, and realistically can't be attractive to every guy in the world.

Also, consider that the "girly girl" image du jour is usually manufactured by homosexual male fashion designers, magazine airbrush artists, and the bubblegum pop music industry. It is transient, and utterly artificial. It exists to sell clothes and make-up to girls, not to appeal to men. Men -- the grown-up variety, not the kind that are still modeling their personalities off of MTV -- require only that a woman look "good enough" for a given situation, and outside of a professional or formal context, that bar is set pretty low. Then they start thinking about the personality, or what she'd look like with her clothes off.

To respond to an earlier respondent, camo and a t-shirt is pretty hot. Camo and a camisole is even hotter. Add 10-inch all-leather black boots and a tasteful black belt to complete the ensemble.

This is ridiculous. These girls are pretty silly. Think of jocks and how much they appreciate girls who can catch a ball, ride a bike and do fun adventurous outdoor activity. Stilleto heels and mini skirts on a hike would be a bit ridiculous.
Think of artists/photopgraphy/crafty guys who like to get their hands dirty? Are these girls cheerleaders? Girls that are too silly to know any better than the fact that the skirts are placed exactly 1 1/2 inches below their buttocks? Footballers and cheerleaders do not count. There is somebody out there for everyone and you do not have to dress a particular way to draw attention to yourself.

No it isn't true.

I have several perspectives that I think about this from.

First, it takes all types. Everybody has a little different taste in what they are seeking.

Second, I don't like "girly girls".

What the heck, I could ramble about this for pages. I'll cut it short. The short answer is dress the way that makes you happy because if you aren't happy with yourself, you won't be any happier with somebody else.

Well, I'm not a guy, but I just HAD to answer this question. There are guys out there who prefer to be with one of them snobs, but, then again, I personally think that they are just immature. You don't need them. What those girls said to you today in the hallway was wrong and right. But, then again, why should you worry about a guy accepting a total fake? You're not fake, so you're gonna meet a real guy. I personally think that mature guys should be called men. Don't worry about what the girls said because trust me, they are just superficial.
