Freeh (Former FBI Head) says the former president let down the American people and the families of victims of the Khobar Towers terror attack in Saudi Arabia. After promising to bring to justice those responsible for the bombing that killed 19 and injured hundreds, Freeh says Clinton refused to personally ask Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to allow the FBI to question bombing suspects the kingdom had in custody – the only way the bureau could secure the interviews, according to Freeh. Freeh writes in the book, “Bill Clinton raised the subject only to tell the crown prince that he understood the Saudis’ reluctance to cooperate and then he hit Abdullah up for a contribution to the Clinton Presidential Library.” Says Freeh, “That’s a fact that I am reporting

This is totally correct. If he was not so busy worrying about his next Monica encounter he may have paid attention to Bin Laden and world events.

Clinton was a glory boy who only cared about the power and what that could bring him. He governed by polls and only worried about popularity. The insecure and not-so-smart leaders do that!

We might be able to blame 9/11 on Monica Lewinsky and Kenneth Starr. If Clinton's messing around with Monica had never come to light, Gore would have been elected by a margin great enough to insure that the Supreme Court could not award the Presidency to Bush. If Gore had been President, he would not have ignored the memo warning that Al Qeada was determined to strike in the United States. He would have alerted folks in the government to get on top of it and try to prevent it. There is a good chance that 9/11 would not have happened if Gore had been President. So, in a way you are right, but not in the way you probably meant.

I believe the saying is referring to the 3000 victims of 9/11. It is a fact that Clinton could have done a WHOLE lot more to discourage terrorism, (his do-nothing attitude after the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole is one example). This portrayed the U.S. as a "paper tiger" in the eyes of terrorists around the world. He himself admitted that he could have gotten Bin Laden, but didn't. And now Sandy Burger was caught stealing classified documents out of the national archives dealing with the Clinton Administration's intelligence failures that led up to 9/11 so as to not cast a shadow on the former president's legacy.
As far as Clinton's legacy goes, Monica and others have already blown that!

Some people will say anything. Clinton has been gone for over 6 years and everything is still his fault. Wake up people, Bush is and has been running the show. Clinton is gone. I heard the other day that if the unemployement goes up, you can blame it on Clinton. What a bunch of nuts. don't they know that all of our troubles is Ikes doing.

We all realize Clinton's apathy in regards to terrorism, but the only people you can blame for the 9/11 attacks are the Muslims that planned, funded and carried it out.

So true. If anyone wants to find the "path to 9-11" they should start in the Whitehouse oval office and locate the Clinton semen stains on the carpet. Follow that path for 8 long years completely ignoring the islamo facist menance that planned 9-11. The only terrorist Bill Clinton ever cared for was the little terrorist in his pants that attacked fat ugly interns.

Blah, blah, blah. Bush promised to bring Bin Laden to justice, too. The dead are on Bush's head.

Yes. It is the sickening truth that clinton did nothing to shake the terrorists. Can you imagine how different our country would be today if he had concentrated on world affairs.

I can't believe how ignorant the other answers are in this posting. Absolute tunnel vision. They know not what they say!
