Most of the solid reasons are those conservatives are ideologically opposed to, such as position on the Iraq war. However, consider the following. Rudy Giuliani is anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage. Mitt Romney seems to have not made a very solid stand on abortion or gay marriage (Look at his past history), and I am still doubtful at the likelihood of a Mormon winning a primary where the demographic is overwhelmingly Protestant and a large faction fundamentalist Protestant at that. John McCain weasels his words and twists his opinions to the media with a skill only Hillary Clinton can match. McCain is also more insistent on putting more troops into Iraq than Bush would. If nothing else, the war fatigue would guarantee Republicans suffer for a few election cycles, and McCain would likely face a Democrat-controlled congress his entire term anyhow.

Electing Hillary Clinton would be a test of patience for neocons in particular, although all edges of the Republican party would find it repugnant. The main hope there would be that she overdoes it on the liberal side and irritates the country back to a Republican swing within four years. Barack Obama is more charismatic, and seems to be more even handed in his approach. While many of his views would clash with those of a Republican, he would likely be less adversarial and allow for a little bit of healing from the rampant partisan struggles in the past two decades or so.

If you want to be devious about it, you could use Obama as a test to show the black voters just how Democrats treat a black man in power, and whether he's in line with their beliefs as much as the Republicans are.

So, here's a reason for you. Vote for a Democrat, because voting for a Republican in the current field only guarantees a backlash against current Republican policies strong enough that the real firm liberals like Kucinich would be much more palatable. I'm sure you'd absolutely adore that prospect.

Dumb, simplistic questions: on the one hand they're annoying and pointless, whereas on the other hand they're... nah, never mind, there really isn't an upside. How about this: there's no point in liberals and conservatives trying to explain to one another why they feel the way they do, since they're simply profoundly different philosophies and ways of looking at the world? Perhaps it might be better, for objectivity's sake, to challenge liberals and conservatives alike to examine the limitations of their own arguments and the holes in their own theories, rather than posting the type of drivel you just did?

Neither, thank you very much. Why the heck would you want to vote for them anyway?
By the way, is that picture of Hillary Clinton? Good lord, she looks like she's gonna kill me.

I'm supporting my good friend, Hillary Rodham Clinton, for the presidency.

Why?

Simple, she is dedicated to the security and future of our country. Clinton will work to unify our nation domestically and return our nation's grandeur on the international scene.

Voting is irrelevant and unnecessary. US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia SELECTS the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES every 4 YEARS regardless of who the Voters want. Where have you been?

you shouldn't vote for someone because of what anyone on this board says. Instead, look at their issues and where they stand on them. Look at their voting records, speeches, etc. Finally, compare their ideas with yours.

Vote for someone you think represents both your interests and that of the country the best, not because of flashy campaigns, websites, or rhetoric.
