Unfortunately, this is a scam. Once you answer these types of emails you are usually asked for more personal, banking information and most of the time you are asked to send them money. I've heard of people losing thousands of dollars. These are the same as the emails received from Nigeria stating you've won millions of dollars. I recently saw a segment on 20/20 regarding this type of scam. ~D

Highly likely it's a scam. A lot of the details are just bullshit. And the information they're asking for is enough to steal your identity.

never give out personal information online unless you are purchasing through a website you are familiar with.

I would most likely assume that it is, the fact it is from bellsouth.net they most likely either want to send newletters to join bellsouth or want to post your info on the net.
Im not sure, but if you still thinking it might be most likely it will be or you could try replying back

Well, when they ask for money or your bank account number, you are either gonna be smart enuff to figure it out or stupid enuff to give them this info or money!
