My best friend Kevin just got accepted to Richmond University in London! I am really excited for him to go because I know that he deserves these amazing opportunities, but how do I deal with him going so far away for college? We have been best friends since 6th grade and we're freshman in college right now. Is there an easy way to deal with this?

No not an easy way. But with all the technology these days it is super easy to stay in touch. You need to set up a visit Kevin fund now! Start saving your money for a visit to him. Not to mention It's London! Spend as much time with him before he leaves, and enjoy his company. Make sure you get his address and send cards and letters along with keeping in touch via Internet. Just think of all the cool interesting stories he will have to tell you.
Hope that helps a little, It will be hard but you will get though it.
The only thing that stays the same is everything changes.

There is no easy way to get over this, however wish him the best of luck and spend as much time as possible with him. Also try to explore new activities with other friends and try making a new best friend and get out more with new people. Maybe this is a chance for you to make some new friends.

There's always text messaging!!! and e-mails!!! not as fun as being there but you can communicate, and when he comes home for holidays, it's like he's never been away. Just take the time to keep up with each other as only best friends can do. God Bless, Martha S.

You just have to "toughen up" so to speak. You have been together for a long time and eventually separation was going to happen one way or another. Make sure you get a good international long distance plan, buy lots of stamps, and cry AFTER he gets on the plane. It will all work out.

You can still talk to him everyday on the internet and I'm sure a few visits to London would be fun.

Merely get his email address and you can communicate using a computer. Also, remember to give him space to get new friends, but make your presence known by govong him gifts.
