do you get anything for thumbs up or loose anything for thumbs down?

Nope it means nothing. However you do get one point if someone votes thumbs up on a best answer that you have given. As far as giving thumbs up or down for a answer someone gives to your question,it means nothing.

No, it just closes up the field where the respondent entered and you have to open it up to view his answer. (thumbs down) the other thing I noticed is that you don't get all the points you should because people are pressing the thumbs up sign before the question is resolved. You don't get the one point when it is still open. You can't give them that winning extra point for a job well done if you have already given him a thumbs up. I think it robs us of potential extra points and I complained to Yahoo about it.

Yes, I think thumbs up make a difference. Sometimes it is difficult to decide the Best Answer and when one of the answers has a lot of thumbs up it indicates to me what answer the community likes.

If voted as best answer, you get an extra point for each thumbs up. Thumbs down mean nothing.

Letsay yo pick a best answer for this question, and somebody comes by and puts a thumbs up on that question, it'll give that person a point. If they don't have 19 thumbs down.

For thumbs down it allows you to not see the question. I do not see anything in the points that you get points deleted. You can look at the link below to see that you do not. You get 50 points.

When your answer has a thumbs up and chosen as best answer every thumbs up you have on it will count as one point +10 points for the best answer.
