okay in language arts we are pretending we are in the army and we're writing letters home to our friends and family. I just need to make my work look old and sort of like an antique so i can get extra credit. how can i do this?

Tea ... Brew tea and then seep your pages in it ... it will yellow the paper. then you can wrinkle it up a bit.

Okay this is what you do... if you are typing or writing it, you can put it in antique (fancy) writing. Then you crumple it into a ball... un-crumple it and lay it out. Get a tea bag and get it wet in WARM water so the tea will come out, then you rub it on the side with the writing. Wait until it dries and it should be brownish and wrinkled (if you want to really make it stand out... tear off the edges un-evenly and rub the tea bag harder there so the edges are old looking like the rest of the page/ they can look worn too!!!) :o)

(psssst...) DON'T listen to the guy above... He is obviously a bit off his rocker! Not to mention I don't think your teacher will actually want to give you extra credit on something you turned in with blood all over it...

You can use tea (most steep-type tea bags like Lipton will work fine if they turn the paper brown.) potting soil, Or even burn the edges slightly with a lighter or even make your own paper with water a few household chemicals and some dryer lint! Believe it or not?

Hey! Try crumpleing up your paper a little but not to much, you can also tear it up a tiny bit, such as ripping some of the conners just enough to make it look like it has been through as much as the person who wrote it. I think any dark brown tea will do really well. Good Luck!

Do not use tea. Use what usually gets splashed around by people in the army. The grocery butcher can get you blood enough for however your account might require.

Tea won't give you the nastyness that bloodstains inspire nor the mild stench that comes from places the Army tends to manage.

Don't forget to have your material censored by the army also
since we can't have military information going astray.

Make some iced tea and let them lay in the brew for a wile. Afterwords try to make it look older by making it worn. You could tair it a little or place the edge under the flame of a candle, just enough to blacken the corners. The best is to crinkle it up as well.

Years ago I learn to use day old coffee to make paper look old. Use a jelly roll pan, lay your paper down and pour warm day old coffee over it. Keep turning the paper until it turns the color you want and then remove the paper from the pan and lay on a flat surface to dry.Use something small on the corners so it doesn't curl. Once dry your paper will look old and dated.

Make sure your ink isn't the kind that bleeds when wet, you can then put a little tea on your paper...try it first with a practice sheet. It should make your page look old and yellowed.

Use tea and coffee to do it. I would also write first in sharpie on it so some blurs. After it dries, have an adult help you burn the edges. I did this in school and it was great.

black tea is the best for this because it produces more colour, but yeah dont use green tea, it doesnt have colour

you could also burn the edges but that tends to be a little dangerous...
