Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Because everyone is rushing to get home. Tons of cars on the road at once, and some idiots are impatient and drive like idiots. Try to have three people walk thru the same doorway at once, and they'll get stuck. One at a time is much more effective. Cars on the road are the same way. If everyone took their time, they'd probably get home quicker.
