PS2 memory cards are not formatted to save PS1 games. The only way you will be able to save your PS1 games will be with a PS1 memory card..

Sorry bud, but you can't save data from a PS1 game on a PS2 memory card; I tried myself.

no i tryed saving the ps2 games on the ps1 card it didnt work i have like 4 cards now

No the Memory Cards are not backwards compatible, real pain.
