purchase a product like "wipe drive" there could be others out there for free (check tucows.com)
it will allow you to perform a complete erase and write of your hard drive to military specs

Don't buy anything to do this.

Use Darik's boot-n-nuke. You can read about it here: http://dban.sourceforge.net/ It's free too. This product can wipe off a hard drive to the point where even the FBI would say "forget this". I know many people will say "buy this program" for the ease of use, but seriously, why pay for something that only wipes off a hard drive... 1 time.

Anyhow, if you just want to wipe off YOUR stuff and leave the operating system itself, just do as one person recomended and use the restore disk on the PC. That would wipe it, but make it usable for someone else if you were going to sell it or give it away.

take the brand of your hard disk
let say its Fujitsu

type the search on the web fitness test and Fujitsu

start with the disk and select low level format
then all will be gone you will need after to do a partition and format

low level format are provide by manufacturer free,

i believe the first poster. you are able to format the completed disk. in case you'll placed an operating equipment again on, then only installation the hot operating equipment and it is going to format the disk for the duration of setup.

put in your windows disk and choose reformat.
