No, I'm NOT against gay marriages, but when you look at the way celebrities have RUINED marriage it makes you wonder why you'd want to be affiliated with that. I laugh everytime someone says "Gays are ruining marriage" because if you'd look at celebrities, the REAL PEOPLE who are ruining it, you'd see the truth.

For example:
8 months - Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd
wed October 2001, split July 2002.

5 months - Shannen Doherty and Ashley Hamilton
wed September 1993, split February 1994.

9 months - Shannen Doherty and Rick Salomon
wed February 2002, split November 2002

5 months -Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman
wed November 1998, split March 1999

3 months, 15 days - Lisa Marie Presley and Nicolas Cage
wed August 2002, split November 2002.

30 days - Drew Barrymore and Jeremy Thomas
wed March 1994, split April 1994.

Britney Spears and Jason Allen Alexander = LESS THAN 6 HOURS!!!

Why would you want to be in the same category as these "married" couples? Don't get me wrong I am all for gay marriages, I think it's great that someday they might get that right. I just think that instead of worrying about Gay marriages, we should worry about CELEBRITY MARRIAGES, they are the ones actually truly RUINING the term. In fact, they're why I'm all for civil unions. Same rights as marriage without being affiliated in the same group as these celebrities.

No, Because I for one couldn't give a dam what others do in their spare time.
I think that follows under the guide lines of minding ones own business.
Now ! You want to talk against anything, well that's one issue I have. Right there is a sore spot with me.
People who can't keep their nose in their own back yard!

no. It doesn't bother me.

I'm an Amerivcan, and I believe in freedom for all. If one group has certain rights, everyone should.

one group's "traditions" isn't a good reason to have a double standard. slavery was once those people's sacred tradition.

manufacturing a narrow definition doesn't cut it either. definitions are arbitrary, and words change meaning as societies change.

Nope, I'm straight and I support it, mostly because I have yet to hear a logical, persuasive argument against it. The potnetial good outweighs the potential harm, so I see no reason to prevent it from becoming law.

I am not against any two people who want to get married.
{I AM against people who cannot communicate in a coherent English sentence, but that is beside the point.}

Marriage rights are given by the STATE. Withholding such rights from any citizen who wants to get married to a legally consenting adult is discrimination, pure and simple. Religion should have no say about which citizens get STATE-given rights.

okay, seriously.........people don't seem to understand what the insititution of marriage was about in it's inception and what it has been historically. marriage is between a man & a woman because some narrow-minded person wrote it that way - just because someone writes something down doesn't make it true. have we still not learned this?
