grant seiged the confederates at vicks burg to gain control of the mississipi river. funny thing is that gettysburg was lost on that same day. on July 4. People in vicksburg havet celberated 4th of july untill the 1930's

Who: Continental Army and British Army (Redcoats)
What: A battle
Why: For independence from Great Britain
How: Mostly on horseback, but a lot of cannon fire from ships in the river, too
