The plecostamous is about 6 inches long and the redtail shark is about 5 inches and very aggresive to other fish (angelfish, neons, etc). Now I am switching my 50 gallon tank to ciclids and wondering if I could keep the plecotamous and the redtail. Would the ciclids hurt them and would the water ph level be ok?

I have and breed convict cichlids and I had my pleco in with them for a while and had to take it back out they were biting at its fins and almost killed it so it really depends on the cichlid angels are a nice choice not very agressive but if you plan on breeding at all the pleco will try to eat the eggs

well, it depends on what type of cichlids & their size. Plecos can live with most cichlids. If given good hiding spots, i think the redtail shark should be able to survive. Given that your pleco & redtail are fairly big, it hink you can introduce smaller cichlids and they would get along pretty well....but it really depends on the type of cichlid....plus each fish has their own personality. One of my friends had a red terror cichlid that got its a$$ kicked by all his other fish in the tank....he later bought a different red terror that attacked everyone else......

It should be fine because I have plecos ,angels ,and bala sharks in my tank and no fights at all, so you should be fine, but you should plan for a bigger tank because plecos can grow up to a foot long-as well as the sharks so get ready.

P.S. Angelfish are cichlids
