This event happened in 1740 and greatly affected the blue-grass music of today. At year England outlanded the playing the bagpipes both at home and in the colonies. With this in mind, the Scots living in the Blue Ridge areas changed from playing the bagpipes to playing the fiddle. (As a note: if one listens to the fiddle music of blue grass they will see that a bagpipe could replace the fiddle on most songs and on many sound better.)

their were several periods of art, including music, that happened imbetween these two dates. the Baroque, romantic, and classical periods just to name a few. anyway, the composers and songs acting in this time period layed the foundation for basically all music listened to today!
