Mine would be this, because my guy don't dance. Stereotype buster. Not that I'm getting married, just thinking about it.

I would choose one of two songs, or perhaps both. Oh, regarding the imbecile above who referred to "real" weddings......in CANADA we do have REAL weddings for opposite sex AND same sex couples.

Song 1 - Awake In A Dream by Kalen Porter

Why might all and sundry think of that folk may be compelled to circulate against their ideals in this sort any further than they're in the different? A Christian kin could no longer sue a Jewish caterer for refusing to offer non-Kosher food at an experience. better than that, why might all and sundry want somebody engaged on something as specific and significant as their wedding ceremony if that individual did no longer have their coronary heart in doing the superb achievable activity? it may be like hiring a Nazi to plot a Jewish wedding ceremony. do no longer forget that reversing the ruling on gay Marriage injury the marriage making plans marketplace of California as much as all and sundry else, gay human beings desirous to get married in basic terms went someplace else and gave human beings their business company. all and sundry who needs to coach down business company in on the instant's economic equipment might actual be welcome so which you may do, there are various persons who'll fortunately take it, in basic terms as befell with businesses in the '60s who did an analogous difficulty on the subject of interracial marriages.

Since it's an important event, make it a song that you and your significant other will cherish for the rest of your lives, not just something that will go against a sterotype. If you feel like a song that people would expect at a non-hetro wedding, play it!

Since I have no boyfriend or partner, I really couldn't say because I'd want it to be a mutually-agreed upon song.

About 17 years ago I dated a man who did ask me to marry him. We never got as far as picking out the "First Dance" song, but I know we both agreed we'd want "Christmas Sweet" by Mannheim Steamroller played during the service. It's instrumental, no words, but to us it was very romantic.

Obviously the b*stard dumped me.

it had good lyrics, reminds me of 'dust in the wind', i would pick this song (substitute boy for girl) It's Up To You
(Written by James Lamond and Susan Tedeschi)

I'm gonna tell you just the way I feel
No use in waiting around
I've got this feeling that it might be real
and that's just from the sound

Oh my heart when I heard you laugh
and when I saw that smile
You made me feel like I was alive again
I hadn't felt that in a while

But I don't want to waste your time
Cause if I'm not the right girl or
it's not the right time for you
Here's what I'm gonna do.
I'll send this song out to you
Oh' Then it's up to you

Now don't you worry that you'll break my heart
Don't make no difference to me
I've had it happen once or twice before
Won't need no sympathy

I'll probably find something to keep my mind very occupied
I think I'll read some book on my list
or take a long walk outside
But I don't want to waste your time
Cause if I'm not the right girl or
it's not the right time for you
Here's what I'm gonna do,
I'll send this song out to you
Oh, Then it's up to you

oh, It's up to you baby, It's up to you baby
oh, It's up to you baby, It's up to you baby

And while I don't want to waste your time
I just ask that you maybe play it out in your mind
And if your heart starts talking to you
Just hear what it's saying cause
It might be telling you what to do

oh, It's up to you baby. It's up to you baby
oh, It's up to you baby, It's up to you baby

Pat Benatar - We Belong
Blackhawk - I Need You All The Time.
Anberlin - Cadence
Gary Allan - The One

I've actually thought about this and narrowed it down to those 4, normally you'd want "your song" to be your marriage song.

I've always thought that "You'll Be in My Heart" would be a PERFECT gay wedding song!!! But I think I'll go with "I Love You (For Sentimental Reasons)", just because it's so beautiful and sweet.
