The United States should tax people by the amount of kids they have, that should help curb rampant childbirths and and cut down on welfare! That way people will have to cut down on havin' kids and have a penality for having too many kids!

I'm all for slowing population growth, but the last thing people with kids need are more taxes. Children are expensive, and adding more taxes for having them punishes both the parents and their offspring. Families barely making ends meet would have even more difficulty.
Besides, lower-income families are often the ones with more children. Higher-income families are prone to not want to spend money so they can have a higher standard of living, and thus don't have as many kids.
So basically it would be another tax on families with low incomes.

No! Taxes aren't made to take away people's freedom. What about the families with all the kids who aren't on welfare? If you really what to get families off welfare, take it away. Then those who can't support many children won't feel free to have them because they'll have to pay for them.

Which would lead to more and more abortion clinics opening (you don't really believe that people will start taking more precautions, do you?), which will outrage the public that already believes abortion is wrong, which will lead to more bombings of those clinics and killing of the doctors that work there. good question here in the uk i have to pay council tax which goes towards various things including education.My daughter went to catholic school which is partly funded by the church so i think i should get a rebate
