I am part of the social, cultural and humanitarian group or committee for Jamaica as a part of my school's Model UN group, which will be meeting with 46 other schools tomorrow at a college to have a Model UN conference. My question is what I might be able to say as a part of this committee, I am not too sure of Jamaican things, they are not too often in the news and such and I was just wondering what kind of stand their government takes on certain issues and what issues are taking place in Jamaica that I may be able to discuss as a part of this comittee. Thank you!

The main issue in Jamaica right now is crime.......its currently the highest in the english-speaking caribbean (we are the largest), You could speak about that, and the initiatives that the Ministry of Defense (body responsible for crime) is doing to remedy the problems,

You can also examine the economy and the struggling Jamaican dollar that is depreciating as we speak...........

just remember you have the security of your people as your highest concern. Also, don't spend so much time focusing on your country's position that you don't comment on a point simply becaus eyou are unsure about your country's position. the key thing to success in MUN is to talk A LOT.
