I am 30 and have two beautiful boys age 10 and 13 and now wanting another we have tried and was succesful twice but they ended in miscariages the first at 3 months and the next at 4months but this time it had not left my system we found out by ultrasound and had to have a D&C done now yrs before i had a miscariage and had to have a D&C at that time as well....Now after the last time we cant seem to get preg again...we have tried the ovulation calenders with no luck...I have been told that once you get a D&C done your chance are very slim in either getting preg or if you do they all result in miscariage...i am running out of time and want to know if this is true and if not what can we do to get a succesfull pregnancy to carrie to the end??

adoption is always an answer.
can't really help with the rest other than keep trying stay on the bottom and hold it in. raise the bottom of the bed. And pray, but doesn't help with miscarrying.

I think you need to find the reason behind the repeated pregnancy losses. Sometimes it's a genetic issue (which can only be diagnosed by testing the fetus, I think)). Sometimes it's autoimmune. A woman can make antibodies to the man's sperm (esecially if they previously used condoms for a long time) or antibodies to the baby (again, more likely if condoms were the birth contorl used previously).

I have anticardiolipin antibodies (also called antiphospholipid antibodies). They can cause problems w/ the blood supply to the placenta and can result in RPL. ACLA are more likely, I think if you have a family history of miscarriage. My mother and grandmother, for example, all suffered many miscarriages. The good news is that it can be pretty easily treated. I take baby aspirin and heparin injections daily in pregnancy.

Another possible cause is low progesterone. If you are charting your basal body temprature, you would notice low postovulatory temperatures and maybe erratic temps that may drop below coverline. Low progesterone can be treated w/ natural progesterone cream or perscription progesterone.

If you don't already, I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.

Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

I had a D&C and had 2 children after the D&C. This is a myth, you can get pregnant after a D&C.
