department stores, like jcpenney, because the dresses look just as nice as specialty stores, and are often a LOT cheaper. also, if you can, buy dresses when they are on sale, like right after june or in the fall, when they are in less demand.

one time i bought two dresses at jcpenney for some school dances, and one was 19 dollars, and the other was 15 dollars. does it get any better than that? =]

Macy's, Deb, Old Navy has some cute floral dresses, Wet Seal has vintagey dresses.

where i live theres a shop called Quest and they have pretty nice dresses, check your main street there are usually dress shops there. and many of them are little boutiques that are only in one area. if you're rich go to some designer place like versance, gucci, vera wang etc
