This is what I suggest you do. Ask Candy Joe if she likes Trent. Also tell her, I won't over react by your answer. If she tells you "Yes" say, " But we are still friends right?" She should say yes. But is Candy Joe says no, say ok and leave or change the topic.
Ask Trent the same thing, but if he says yes, reply,"Ok thats fine" or something.
